Bonnie had finally understood that she wasn't trying to avoid the parade: instead she was Distracting, Dividing and Delaying the squadron overhead. The parade was just an extension of Bonnie, much like the crew of the Revenge. She'd begun to think of it with some affection. Go, Hoteliers etc.!
There was so much chaos now on the rooftops that she was able to get out of the vanguard and mix herself in with the rest. There was no way the Patrol could be tracking her up there.
Her problem, of course, was that although she'd evaded her pursuers she had done it by going Where She Did Not Want to Go. This troubled her. So her next objective was to escape the District without standing out from the crowd.
But the crowd was no longer, she saw, a crowd: once they'd been separated into small groups their brains had started to work again, and their brains were working along these lines: Where am I? How did I get here? Why are all those plumes of yellow, rancid smoke coming out of the chimneys? And what's with the giant robot?

I’m pretty sure he uses those drumsticks in an inventive way.
