Enlarge: Epilogue: a suggestion that the story hasn't found its end

That ought to be the end of the story. It's possible that it really is the end of the story. Gwen was never quite sure.

One night on her way home from Uncle Cornelius' laboratory Gwen noticed a small group of robots gathered in an alley. She wasn't trying to pry, of course, but as she walked past she overheard them anyway.

"Each of you wants the can of oil," a voice was saying, "but there is not enough oil for you both. What you must do is to make a compact: together, you will go out and earn enough oil for the two of you. You will share that oil. Then you will give this can of oil to the next two needy robots you see. Tell those robots to do the same thing again. In this way, we will all prosper. Do you understand me?"

Gwen looked down the alley. A couple of Big Lugs were nodding. The third robot - the one who had been speaking - was standing in the shadows. But she thought she recognized him.

The robot's glowing eyes rose to meet hers. Gwen made a low bow. And then she went hom

I am *so* enjoying the Clockwork Book Stories. Makes it a little easier to wait (always patiently!) for the next installment of The Toaster with Two Brains.

I haven’t done the math lately (because who in their right mind would trust me with math?) but you ought to be seeing the next installment of The Toaster With TWO BRAINS right around the time we’re done with the Clockwork Book. So: months away, but plenty to see till then, too :).

I’m glad you like it so far: I can tell you that once we get to the last act there will probably be just about as much twisting, turning, and bouncing as you could want, and possibly a little bit more. That’s quite a ways off yet, though!

Is it just me, or do there seem to be an awful lot of – ehem – back shots of Gwen? Not that I mind. She has a ather nice, um, back.
